MCM Strike- Day 2
Submitted by Gunika on Tue, 2006-08-29 23:34.The day 2 of MCM strike saw support from all the Chandigarh colleges. Dressed in black and shouting ‘We Want Justice’ from all nooks and corners was the site today outside the college.
Hundreds of students from Khalsa, SD, DAV-10 and GCG gathered in front of the gates at 8:30 in the morning. Not only this, SOPU and PUSU have too joined hands with MCM and are supporting them in their mission-Justice.
PU’s president verbalized with Mrs. Puneet Bedi, the principal of the college. She still refuses to accept the terms and conditions agitated by the students. Even the two teachers, who had slapped the innocent girl, are freezing off the accusations against them.
Let us all stand against injustice
Submitted by Gunika on Mon, 2006-08-28 23:46.In the wee hours of noon, when all of us were in our respective classrooms, a sudden noise broke out and diverted our attentions.
Rushing down, we saw girls standing in front of the principal’s office and taking out a procession. There slogan was ‘we want justice’…..justice for Shivani, a first year student who was slapped by two teachers just because she was using her cell phone.
No doubt it’s mentioned in the prospectus that the use of mobiles is prohibited in the college, but that doesn’t mean the teachers get down to physical abuse.
Humiliated, all in tears, poor Shivani rushed to her friends for support, whose admission form had been cancelled too by the principal. Despite of taking any serious step against the two teachers who brutally slapped the poor female, the principal started threatening the girl.
Super boost your memory
Submitted by Gunika on Thu, 2006-08-17 16:43.I hate it when I forget where I have kept the keys, or the name of someone who was with me during school days…or the title of the novel I read just last night. It’s frustrating and often embarrassing, and increasingly common today when we have to keep in mind hundreds and thousands of things.
The main trouble is that we have trained ourselves to have a bad memory. We can even have a great memory at the age of 80, but this is possible only if we invest some time and energy.
Memory declines with age is a very common notion, but this happens only if the memory is not used. If you want to have a super duper memory, which is needed everywhere and anywhere, you need to use it. The outcome will be a terrific memory no matter how old or young you are.

My latest crush- iPod
Submitted by Gunika on Wed, 2006-08-09 16:58.I am a hardcore music lover. I love listening to all sorts of music, but trance and soft songs are my weakness. I believe that music can relieve you from any kind of tensities and take you in a new world all together. When you are disquieted, music does its magic again.
In today’s world, if I raise a question that who doesn’t like music, I am sure just a few hands will be raised, or maybe, not even a single hand. I am sure; all of you out there are music fans just like me. Aren’t you?
Gone are the days when you could boast of your latest and expensive CD player or your MP3. The latest crush is the iPod. A gift of science, or to be more specific, a gift of physics technology.

Give it a second thought
Submitted by Gunika on Tue, 2006-08-08 23:20.Hi everybody!! It always happens that we miss something better in life by thinking that what we have is the best. We do not give a second thought and get contended when we get something. But who knows, that something more ameliorate is waiting for you.
We miss the opportunity to get that better thing because we do not give a second thought.
I came across a story once, thought that why not share it with all the GenXians….
A man once found an eagle’s egg and put it into the nest of a prairie chicken. The eaglet brooded with the chicks and grew up with them, without knowing the fact that it was an eagle.
