John wants a youth brigade!

John Abraham, the new face of the ‘Habitat for Humanity indiaBUILDS’ campaign, has joined hands with former US President US Jimmy Carter to provide housing for the poor in India.

“We worked on two homes; it gave me such a high. I had so much fun that I’m now thinking of buying a piece of land and probably building a house myself,” says John, who was in Lonavala yesterday.

John says his aim is to mobilise the youth to be a part of the movement. “I met Jimmy Carter — I saw this sweet man working so hard at the age of 82 and I thought to myself, if he can do so much for our people, it would be embarrassing for us not to do anything for our own. I am told that 65 percent of our population belongs to the 18-40 years category. Even if 0.1 percent of them comes to our aid, it would make a huge difference,” he avers.
